Knowing the specifications of individual computers is not easy, especially on large networks. Each computer can run different operating systems, with different hardware and software components. Network Inventory Advisor can gather all this information, over a network, on a single computer. You can save one or more remote computers or other devices in the program's database and scan them at any time to retrieve all relevant details about their operating systems, installed programs, hardware components and much more.

The software comes with various price tags, which depend on how many nodes you wish to scan and manage. A free version is available as well, which supports a maximum of 10 nodes. Network Inventory Advisor works on all modern Windows platforms and it can be installed fast, without any effort.

It should not take long to get used to the available controls, on the software's user interface. Options for scanning the network or adding single hosts to the database, generating reports and more are located on ribbon menus, like in modern versions of MS Word or other Office programs. Targeted computers are displayed along with their parent groups in a tree structure, on the left side of the interface. You can add new computers one by one or scan one or more IP ranges to add several computers in a single run.

Selecting a host will display a wide range of information in the central region of the window. The software provides you with a summary for each computer, which includes alerts, like low disk space, disabled updates and so on, information about certain hardware components, the memory usage on each partition and more. More information can be found for specific components. You can choose from a large array of categories, on the right side of the interface, to reveal details about a computer's operating system, installed programs, its processor, RAM, hard drive, shared resources, running processes and much more.

Reports can be generated on a different tab. Report types are displayed as folders in a tree structure, which replaces the hosts list. The available options can generate numerous reports, for all computers. The reports themselves are saved in the aforementioned tree structure and they are displayed as tables of contents in the central area of the interface. You can export the reports in HTML, CSV, PDF and many other formats.

Pros

The software can gather a vast range of information about remote computers. The information is neatly organized in numerous categories. You can generate a wide array of reports and export them in various formats.

Cons

Certain firewall settings may prevent the program from retrieving any information. Everything you need to know about a computer on your network can be retrieved in a matter of seconds with Network Inventory Advisor.
